The Humor Interview and Depression

I shared that I recently sat down with Jordan Green and Christain Piatt to discuss my article “Why Christians Arent’ Funny” on Relevant’s website. The interview went live yesterday and you can listen to it here. I thought things went reasonable well, although I was definitely out of my depth when I came to making witty banter on the fly.

I did surprise myself about halfway through the interview when I disclosed that I wrestled with a nasty bout of depression about three years ago. Jordan pointed out the numbers of comedians that seem to wrestle with depression and suggested that Christians, on the whole, might be less prone toward experiencing depression. I disagreed and used myself as Exhibit A.

Because there’s nothing more funny that talking the negative edges of your emotional health on a podcast about humor.
